Terms

The agreement between you and PLACEHOLDER — your name or company name, who runs Month by Month. Last updated 16 September 2026.

What we do

We give you a private album for your photographs, and print a book of each month's best ones while you have a subscription. We deliver within the United Kingdom only.

Your photographs are yours

You keep every right in what you upload. You give us permission to store your photographs, show them to the people you invite, and print them in your book — and nothing else. We do not use them to advertise, we do not show them to anybody you have not invited, and we do not use them to train software.

You confirm that you may upload what you upload: that the photographs are yours, or that you have the agreement of whoever took them, and that where a child appears you are their parent or guardian or have their parent's agreement.

What we ask of you

  • Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to share.
  • Do not use the service to harass anybody, or to share photographs of somebody who has asked you not to.
  • Keep your sign-in to yourself; anyone with your invitation link can see the album it belongs to.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why.

Subscriptions

  • The shop is open to anybody, with or without an account. Adding photographs to an album needs a subscription: storing them is the cost the subscription covers.
  • Being invited to somebody else's album costs you nothing. Their subscription covers it.
  • A subscription is billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, and renews until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time in Settings. You keep the books already printed, and the album carries on to the end of the period you have paid for. After that the photographs are kept for you but cannot be added to or looked at until you subscribe again; nothing is deleted.
  • Prices can change, but never for a period you have already paid for. We will tell you before a change takes effect.

The books

  • Each month we choose the photographs that print best. You have three days after the month ends to change them, the cover and the title, and you can send a book to print early.
  • Once a book is sent to print it cannot be changed, because it is being made for you.
  • Printing and delivery are done by a print partner. Books usually arrive within two weeks of going to print.
  • If a book arrives damaged, misprinted or not at all, tell us within 30 days and we will reprint it or refund it.

Cancelling, and refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have 14 days to change your mind about a subscription. A printed book is made to your order, so that right does not apply once it has gone to print — but the paragraph above stands: anything wrong with a book, we put right.

What we can promise

We look after your photographs carefully: they are stored on managed infrastructure, albums are private by default, and you can download everything at any time. We cannot promise the service will never be unavailable, and you should not treat it as your only copy of a photograph you could not bear to lose.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem.

Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like, in Settings; it removes your albums and the files behind them. If we ever close the service we will give you at least 30 days' notice to download everything.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions: PLACEHOLDER — privacy@yourdomain.
